Pursuant to section 2 of the Official Appointments and Documents Act 1919 and sections 14 and 31 of the District Court Act 2016 and section 250 of the Resource Management Act 1991, Her Excellency the Governor-General of New Zealand is pleased to appoint:

Laurence John Newhook

retiring District Court Judge, to be an Acting District Court Judge, to exercise the criminal jurisdiction of the District Court under section 354(3) of the Criminal Procedure Act 2011 and also to be an Alternate Judge of the Environment Court for a term of two years commencing on 8 July 2020.
