Pursuant to section 60 of the Fisheries Act 1996, the Minister of Fisheries, after complying with that section, gives the following notice.

Notice

1. Title

This notice is the Fisheries (Quota Aggregation Limit Exemption) Notice 2020.

2. Commencement

This notice shall come into effect on the day after its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

3. Exemption to Quota Aggregation Limit

From the date that this notice comes into effect, consent is given for Gisborne Fisheries Limited to hold quota shares for rock lobster up to the limit of 20,596,637 quota shares in quota management area CRA 3 (Gisborne).

4. Conditions

The consent given in clause 3 of this notice is subject to the following condition being met:

Gisborne Fisheries Limited must complete the acquisition of 3,794,496 CRA 3 quota shares from the Gerber Family Trust prior to 1 July 2020.

5. Evidence of Satisfaction of Condition

To evidence the consent condition has been satisfied Fisheries New Zealand must receive formal notification from Gisborne Fisheries Limited that the quota shares have been transferred from the Gerber Family Trust to Gisborne Fisheries Limited.
