In accordance with section 446(a) and (b) of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, Maritime New Zealand, on behalf of the Minister of Transport, gives notice of the Minister’s intention to make the following maritime rules:
Maritime Rules Part 90 - Pilotage
The proposed Maritime Rules Part 90 Amendments 2020:
- enables oil tankers, including bunker barges, to be navigated in a pilotage area without carrying a pilot in certain circumstances:
- updates a number of pilotage areas and limits set out in Appendix 1 of Part 90
Comments are invited on the above proposed rules developed under the Maritime Transport Act 1994.
