Pursuant to sections 338(5)(c) and 338(5)(d) of Te Ture Whenua Māori Act 1993, on the recommendation of the Māori Land Court, the Māori freehold land described in the Schedule and comprised in the Māori Reservation known as Matata Lot 72B No.3Y No.16 Māori Reservation, set apart by notice published in the New Zealand Gazette, 11 February 1971, No. 9, page 207, is redefined in terms of the purpose from “a meeting place for the common use and benefit of the Ngati Tarawera subtribe of the Ngatiawa tribe” to “the purpose of a marae and maara kai for the common use and benefit of Ngai Tamawera”.
