Notice is hereby given that Watercare Services Limited (“Watercare”), being a local authority for the purposes of the Public Works Act 1981 by virtue of section 60 of the Local Government (Auckland Council) Act 2009, proposes to take, under the provisions of section 23 of the Public Works Act 1981, an easement interest (“Easement”) in the land described in the Schedule to this notice (“Land”).

The Easement is required for the Hunua No. 4 Watermain Project. The reason why Watercare considers it essential to take the Easement is to construct and operate a section of the Hunua No. 4 Watermain, which will form part of its wider infrastructure network within the Auckland region.

The owner of the Land and those persons with a registered interest in it have been served with notice of Watercare’s intention to take the Easement and advised of their right to object.

Any other person having the right to object may send a written objection to the Registrar, Environment Court, Tribunals Division, Ministry of Justice, Private Bag, Postal Centre, Wellington, within 20 working days after the date of publication of this notice.

If any objection is made in accordance with this notice, a public hearing will be held. The objector will have a right to appear and be heard personally, unless the objector otherwise requires. Each objector will be informed of the time and place of the hearing.
