Nurses (Fees) Notice 2019

Pursuant to sections 130(1) and 131 of the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003, the following notice is given.

Notice

1. Title and commencement

(1) This notice may be cited as the Nurses (Fees) Notice 2019.

(2) The fees come into force on the dates as specified.

(3) This notice revokes the fees in the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette, 23 April 2015, Issue No. 41, Notice No. 2015-gs2414, on the date from which they are effective.

2. Fees

The Nursing Council of New Zealand (“council”) sets the following fees, payable to the council, specified in the Schedule to this notice. All fees charged by the council are non-refundable.

3. Tax

The fees are inclusive of goods and services tax.

4. Purpose

The Schedule to this notice sets out the fees that the council has determined must be paid for the services outlined. This notice clarifies disciplinary levies charged as part of the Annual and Interim Practising Certificates.

5. Rationale

Change in application and processing fees for internationally qualified nurses : Following a public consultation the fees for internationally qualified nurses applying for registration from overseas (except Australia) will be $450.00.

6. Rationale

Change in the disciplinary levy was approved to ensure sufficient funds are available to manage the Disciplinary process of the Council. There is no increase in the APC fee.
