Notice of Amendment to Acceptable Solutions and Verification Methods for Building Code Clauses B1 Structure, B2 Durability, E2 External Moisture, H1 Energy Efficiency and Associated Materials Incorporated by Reference

Acceptable Solutions and Verification Methods Proposed to be Amended

Pursuant to section 24(1) of the Building Act 2004 (“Act”), I give notice amendments to the following Acceptable Solutions and Verification Methods:

  • B1/AS1 – Structure
  • B1/AS3 – Structure
  • B1/VM1 – Structure
  • B2/AS1 – Durability
  • H1/AS1 – Energy efficiency
  • H1/VM1 – Energy efficiency

Acceptable Solution and Verification Method to be issued

Pursuant to section 24(1) of the Building Act 2004 (“Act”), I give notice that the following Acceptable Solution has been issued come into force on 28 November 2019:

  • E2 External moisture: E2/AS4

The amended version of the above Acceptable Solutions and Verification Methods will come into force on 28 November 2019.

The Acceptable Solutions can be downloaded free of charge from the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) website: www.building.govt.nz/building-code-compliance.

The preceding versions continue to be in force until:

  • B1/AS1 – Structure (28 November 2021)
  • B1/AS3 – Structure (28 November 2019)
  • B1/VM1 – Structure (28 November 2019)
  • B2/AS1 – Durability (28 November 2019)
  • H1/AS1 – Energy efficiency (28 November 2019)
  • H1/VM1 – Energy efficiency (28 November 2019)

Acceptable Solution to be revoked

Pursuant to section 24(1) of the Act, I give notice that the Simple House Acceptable Solution is to be revoked and will cease having legal effect on 28 November 2019.

Pursuant to sections 405 and 410(1)(e) of the Act, I give notice that the following materials are to be incorporated by reference into the following Acceptable Solution on 28 November 2019:
