Acceptable Solutions to be revoked
Pursuant to section 24(1) of the Building Act 2004 (“Act”), I give notice that the following Acceptable Solutions are to be revoked and will cease having legal effect on 31 October 2019:
- C1–C6 Protection from Fire: C/AS2 Acceptable Solution for Buildings with Sleeping (non-institutional) (Risk Group SM)
- C1–C6 Protection from Fire: C/AS3 Acceptable Solution for Buildings where Care or Detention is provided (Risk Group SI)
- C1–C6 Protection from Fire: C/AS4 Acceptable Solution for Buildings with Public Access and Educational Facilities (Risk Group CA)
- C1–C6 Protection from Fire: C/AS5 Acceptable Solution for Buildings used for Business, Commercial and Low Level Storage (Risk Group WB)
- C1–C6 Protection from Fire: C/AS6 Acceptable Solution for Buildings used for High Level Storage and Other High Risk Purposes (Risk Group WS)
- C1–C6 Protection from Fire: C/AS7 Acceptable Solution for Buildings used for Vehicle Storage and Parking (Risk Group VP)
Acceptable Solution and Verification Method to be issued
Pursuant to section 24(1) of the Act, I give notice that the following Acceptable Solution and Verification Method have been issued come into force on 27 June 2019:
- C1–C6 Protection from Fire: C/AS2
- E2 External moisture: E2/VM2
Acceptable Solutions and Verification Methods to be amended
Pursuant to section 24(1) of the Act, I give notice of amendments to the following Acceptable Solutions and Verification Methods:
- B1 Structure: B1/VM1, B1/AS1
- B2 Durability: B2/AS1
- E2 External moisture: E2/VM1
- G4 Ventilation: G4/AS1
- G12 Water supplies: G12/VM1, G12/AS1, G12/AS2
- G13 Foul water: G13/VM2, G13/AS1, G13/AS2, G13/AS3
The amended versions of the above Acceptable Solutions and Verification Methods come into force on 27 June 2019. The preceding versions continue to be in force until 31 October 2019.
The Acceptable Solutions and Verification Methods can be downloaded free of charge from the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (“MBIE”) website: www.building.govt.nz/building-code-compliance.
