New Zealand Transport Agency (Speed Limits on State Highways) Amendment Bylaw 2019/4

Pursuant to section 61(3) of the Government Roading Powers Act 1989, and the Land Transport Rule: Setting of Speed Limits 2017, the NZ Transport Agency hereby makes the following bylaw.

Bylaw

1. Title and commencement—This bylaw is the New Zealand Transport Agency (Speed Limits on State Highways) Amendment Bylaw 2019/4 and will come into force on and from 2 August 2019.

2. Amendments—The New Zealand Transport Agency (Speed Limits on State Highways) Bylaw 2010/10* is hereby amended by:

  • Inserting line 217A in Schedule 1 to read:
    “Line No.: 217A
    Region: 3
    SH No.: 1
    Locality: Piarere
    Section of State Highway: From 228m west of the SH29 left slip island nose to 150m east of the SH29 to State Highway 1 right turn lane.
    Speed Limit (km/h): See Schedule 2
    Effective Date: 2 August 2019
    Speed Limit Rule: Setting of Speed Limits 2017
    New Zealand Gazette Reference: 31/7/2019, Notice No. 2019-au3566”
  • Inserting line 217A in Schedule 2 to read:
    “Line No.: 217A
    Region: 3
    SH No.: 1
    Locality: Piarere
    Section of State Highway: From 228m west of the SH29 left slip island nose to 150m east of the SH29 to State Highway 1 right turn lane.
    Speed Limit (km/h): Any time during any period specified in condition 3 of the Land Transport Rule: Setting of Speed Limits 2017 and Land Transport Rule: Traffic Control Devices 2004, Rural Intersection Active Warning System Variable Speed Limits – Low Cost Corridor Safety Improvements Programme, New Zealand Gazette, 22 June 2018, Notice No. 2018-au3033, when a variable speed limit sign installed on the section of State highway displays the numerals “60”, the speed limit is 60km/h. At all other times the speed limit is 100km/h.

Explanatory Note

This note is not part of the bylaw, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This bylaw, which comes into force on and from 2 August 2019, amends the New Zealand Transport Agency (Speed Limits on State Highways) Bylaw 2010/10.
