Pursuant to section 103 of the Land Transport Management Act 2003, the NZ Transport Agency gives notice with effect on and from 30 June 2019, that:

  1. Part of State Highway 2, the road described in the First Schedule, is revoked; and
  2. The section of new road, described in the Second Schedule, is declared to be State Highway 50.

First Schedule

  1. Part of State Highway 2, commencing on State Highway 2 at the Meeanee Quay roundabout at old RS 647 RP 0.040 extending in a general south-easterly direction to end approximately at the northern abutment of the Westshore Bridge at old RP 1.393. The length of road to be revoked is approximately 1.353 kilometres.
  2. Part of State Highway 2, commencing on State Highway 2 at the southern abutment of the Westshore Bridge at old RS 647 RP 1.444 and extending in a generally southern direction to the rail crossing at Hyderabad Road at old RP 2.265. The length of road to be revoked is 0.821 kilometres.

Second Schedule

Part of State Highway 50 in Napier City, commencing at the roundabout at the intersection of Hyderabad Road and Prebensen Drive at new RS 2 RP 0.600 extending in a general westerly direction to finish at the junction of Prebensen Drive and the Hawke’s Bay Expressway at new RP 2.300. The length of road to be declared is 1.700 kilometres.
