Pursuant to section 47(3) of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Director of Maritime New Zealand hereby notifies the granting of an exemption from Maritime Rules on 9 November 2018:

• 1 from Rule 40D.37(1), Appendix 1, 1.1, Survival craft – Design, Construction and Equipment – Fishing Ships – Provision of life-saving appliances for ships that proceed in the unlimited area – Only in relation to rescue boats complying with Rule 42A.14 on ships 24 metres or more in length
