Pursuant to section 47(3) of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Director of Maritime New Zealand hereby notifies the granting of the following exemptions from the Maritime Rules for the period 23 November 2018 to 11 December 2018 inclusive:

• 7 from Rule 19.3 – Maritime Transport Operator – Certification and Responsibilities – Requirement to hold Maritime Transport Operator Certificate
• 7 from Rule 19.41 – Maritime Transport Operator – Certification and Responsibilities – Maritime Transport Operator Plan requirements
• 7 from Rule 19.42(1) – Maritime Transport Operator – Certification and Responsibilities – Develop and document maritime transport operator safety system in the Maritime Transport Operator Plan
• 7 from Rule 19.43(1) – Maritime Transport Operator – Certification and Responsibilities – Develop and apply a survey plan
• 7 from Rule 19.45(1) – Maritime Transport Operator – Certification and Responsibilities – Develop and apply a maintenance plan
• 7 from Rule 19.46(1) – Maritime Transport Operator – Certification and Responsibilities – Develop relevant safety equipment list and a spare parts list
• 7 from Rule 19.62(1) – Maritime Transport Operator – Certification and Responsibilities – No person may operate or permit the operation of a ship in the maritime transport operation unless the ship has a valid Certificate of Survey issued under Rule 44.41
