In accordance with section 17 of the Freedom Camping Act 2011, the Deputy Director-General, Operations, Department of Conservation, acting under delegation from the Director-General of the Department of Conservation, hereby gives notice that freedom camping will be prohibited by a freedom camping notice covering the Pororari River Track Carpark, Punakaiki from and including 17 December 2018. This notice replaces the Freedom Camping Notice for the Pororari River Track Carpark, insofar as it provides for restricted freedom camping, as published in the New Zealand Gazette, 29 November 2012, No. 142, page 4158.

Freedom Camping notices are held at the Department of Conservation’s National Office and are available for inspection electronically at offices of the Department. The notices are also available for inspection on the Department of Conservation’s internet site, /www.doc.govt.nz/parks-and-recreation/places-to-stay/stay-at-a-campsite/freedom-camping/. Copies of the notices may be obtained through the offices of the Department on payment of a reasonable amount to cover costs of reproducing the notices.
