On 29 April 2018, pursuant to section 29A of the Terrorism Suppression Act 2002 (TSA), the description of the designated terrorist entity Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis was changed to Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant – Sinai Province. Henceforth, the designated entity Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis shall be designated under the description Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant – Sinai Province.

Also on 29 April 2018 the terrorist designation of Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant – Sinai Province (formerly Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis) was renewed pursuant to section 35 of the TSA.

Any person who deals with the property of the entity listed below may be liable to prosecution for an offence under section 9 of the TSA.

The designation expires on 29 April 2021 unless earlier revoked or extended pursuant to section 35 of the TSA.
