This instrument comes into force on the 28th day after it is published in the New Zealand Gazette. - Principal programme
This instrument amends the Families Package (Transitional Assistance) Programme1 (as established and approved on 12 February 2018) (“principal programme”). - Clause 4 amended (Interpretation)
- In clause 4(1), definition of net income, delete “and winter energy payment”.
- In clause 4(1), definition of specified payment, paragraph (j), revoke.
- In clause 4(1), definition of winter energy payment, revoke.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the instrument, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This instrument amends the Families Package (Transitional Assistance) Programme under the Social Security Act 1964. It removes references to the winter energy payment so that the payment is not taken into consideration in assessing a person’s entitlement to or rate of transitional assistance.
