Notice of Initiation: Investigation of the Alleged Dumping of Certain Hollow Steel Sections From China and Malaysia

Pursuant to section 10A of the Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988, and acting under delegated authority from the Chief Executive of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, I have initiated an investigation of the alleged dumping of the goods described in the Schedule of this notice (“goods”). This initiation follows the receipt of an application made by the New Zealand industry providing sufficient evidence justifying the need for investigation.

Description of Goods

Certain electric resistance welded pipe and tube made of carbon steel, comprising circular and noncircular hollow sections, collectively referred to as hollow steel sections (HSS).

The goods are currently classified under the Tariff items outlined below. This classification is provided for convenience and Customs’ purposes only, the written description being dispositive:

    • 7306.30.19.
    • 7306.61.00.
