Notice of Intention to Consider Varying a Scheduled International Air Service Licence

Pursuant to section 87J(3) of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, sections 41(1) and 42 of the State Sector Act 1988, and a delegation from the Secretary for Transport dated 31 October 2017, I give notice that, having received an application from Air New Zealand Limited, the Minister of Transport intends to consider varying the Scheduled International Air Service Licence held by that airline in order to provide that it can:

  • operate without capacity constraints over the routing “Points in New Zealand, optionally via intermediate points, to a point or points in the Separate Customs Territory of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu, and beyond”
  • increase capacity to Indonesia to up to seven services per week
  • increase capacity to New Caledonia to up to three services per week
  • operate without route or capacity constraints in regards to Chile.

Any person wishing to make representations to the Minister of Transport relating to this application must forward those representations in writing to reach me at the Ministry of Transport, PO Box 3175, Wellington, on or before 13 April 2018.
