ELIZA WHITE BOARD OF MANAGEMENT
In the High Court of New Zealand, Christchurch Registry:
The ELIZA WHITE BOARD OF MANAGEMENT has applied to the High Court at Christchurch for approval of a scheme under Part 3 of the Charitable Trusts Act 1957. The proposed scheme seeks to vary the terms of the charitable trust established under the will of Eliza White, late of Christchurch deceased, as subsequently modified by an Act of Parliament and by the High Court. The general nature of the proposed variation is to relieve the Board of the obligation to maintain residential accommodation and instead to permit the trust capital and income to be applied more generally for the benefit of poor and needy children.
Full details of the proposed variation are contained in the originating application and the affidavit of Mark John O’Reilly in support which annexes the report of the Attorney-General in favour of the scheme. These documents are available for inspection at the offices of Steel & Co, Solicitors, 111 Bealey Avenue, Christchurch, (contact Greg Steel, phone (03) 3665 169).
The application for approval is to be heard in the High Court at Christchurch on 11 February 2019 at 11.45am.
Any person desiring to oppose the scheme must give written notice of his or her intention to do so to the Registrar of the High Court at Christchurch and to the Eliza White Board of Management and to the Attorney-General at the Crown Law Office, PO Box 2858, Wellington, not less than seven clear days before that date.
