Notice of Amendments to Material Incorporated by Reference in Maritime Rules

Pursuant to section 452(6) of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, Maritime New Zealand gives notice that in the Maritime Rules Part 40 Series Amendments 2017, made on 23 January 2018, the following material is incorporated by reference:

  • in rule 3 of the Maritime Rules Part 40 Series Amendments 2017 in relation to Part 40D: in rule 40D.2 in the definition of “NAVAREA”: IMO Resolution A.706(17)
  • in rule 3 of the Maritime Rules Part 40 Series Amendments 2017 in relation to Part 40D: in rule 40D.2 in the definition of “IMO GMDSS Master Plan”: GMDSS Master Plan adopted by the IMO
  • in rule 3 of the Maritime Rules Part 40 Series Amendments 2017 in relation to Part 40D: in rule 40D.2 in the definition of “Sea Area A4”: SOLAS Chapter IV regulation 2
  • in rule 9 of the Maritime Rules Part 40 Series Amendments 2017 in relation to Part 43: in rule 43.22A: Performance Standards for Survival Craft AIS search and Rescue Transmitters (AIS-SART) for Use in Search and Rescue Operations adopted by the International Maritime Organisation by Resolution MSC.246(83)

Availability of material for inspection

The material incorporated by reference described above is available for inspection by appointment free of charge at the Maritime New Zealand office listed below during the hours of 8.30am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday: Maritime New Zealand Office Level 11, 1 Grey Street, Wellington.
