Pursuant to section 448(2) of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, Maritime New Zealand gives notice of the making of the following maritime rules:

Maritime Rules Part 40 Series Amendments 2017.

These rules were signed on 23 January 2018 and will come into force as follows:

• Rules 6.1 and 6.2 of the Maritime Rules Part 40 Series Amendments 2017 come into force on 1 January 2019.
• All other rules of the Maritime Rules Part 40 Series Amendments 2017 come into force on 15 March 2018.

These rules are available for inspection free of charge, or for purchase at a cost, from Maritime New Zealand, Level 11, 1 Grey Street, Wellington, or on the Maritime New Zealand website at www.maritimenz.govt.nz/rules.
