In accordance with section 220 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 (“Act”), I, Nicole Rosie, give notice that I have exempted Oceana Gold (New Zealand) Limited from compliance with the following provisions of the Health and Safety at Work (Mining Operations and Quarrying Operations) Regulations 2016 in relation to its Macraes opencast and Frasers underground mining operations:

• Regulation 213(3)(a) to the extent it requires a plan of a mining operation, including any updated plan, to be prepared using the New Zealand Geodetic Datum 2000.
• Regulation 214(1).

This exemption takes effect on 30 November 2018.
