Pursuant to section 4 of the Environment Act 1986, Her Excellency the Governor-General of New Zealand has been pleased to appoint

the Right Honourable Simon David Upton, of Wellington

as Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment for a term of five years commencing from 16 October 2017.
