Under the Reserves Act 1977, the Operations Manager, Kapiti Wellington District Office, Department of Conservation, classifies the reserve described in the Schedule as a recreation reserve, appoints the Wellington Regional Council to control and manage the reserve for recreation purposes, and declares the said reserve to form part of the Queen Elizabeth Park recreation reserve. The appointment to control and manage the reserve is subject to the Minister being able to recover any rates from Council if such rates are levied and paid by the Crown.
