Notice of New and Altered Geographic and Crown Protected Area Names for Ngatikahu ki Whangaroa Treaty of Waitangi Settlement 2017

Pursuant to sections 57, 58 and 60 of the Ngatikahu ki Whangaroa Claims Settlement Act 2017 (“Settlement Act 2017”), the New Zealand Geographic Board Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa (“Board”) hereby gives notice of 12 new and altered official geographic and Crown protected area names.

The Schedule below specifies the details of the 12 new and altered official geographic and Crown protected area names, their geographic feature type or term, their descriptions, their former names, statuses, and New Zealand Gazette references.

The official geographic and Crown protected area names took effect on 17 October 2017, being the settlement date specified in the Settlement Act 2017.

Pursuant to sections 59 and 60(4) of the Settlement Act 2017, the Board may in the future agree to alter any official geographic or Crown protected area names, as listed in the Schedule below, with the consent of the trustees of Kahukuraariki Trust.
