Designation of a Gold Fossicking Area
Pursuant to section 98(1) of the Crown Minerals Act 1991, we hereby jointly designate the area of land listed in the Schedule as a gold fossicking area.
Gold fossicking activities are restricted to that part of the wet bed of Moonlight Creek within the area described in the Schedule.
A map of this area may be viewed on the New Zealand Petroleum & Minerals website at www.nzpam.govt.nz using reference 42031.
Schedule
GFA 42031 – Moonlight Creek | All that area of land comprising 59.768ha approximately being Part Section 5 SO 487151 and Part Section 6 SO 487151, being part bed of Moonlight Creek, Grey District, Westland Land District, beginning at a point 1.32km upstream along the centre of Moonlight Creek from the Moonlight Road bridge, thence proceeding along a bearing 112° for 50m to a point on the true left bank of Moonlight Creek, thence in a northerly and north-westerly direction along the true left bank of Moonlight Creek for 6km approximately, to the junction of Middle Branch and Left Branch, thence crossing over Moonlight Creek along a bearing of 135° for a distance of 100m to the true right bank of Moonlight Creek, thence in an easterly and south easterly direction along the true right bank for approximately 6km, thence along a bearing of 112° for 120m to the point of commencement. |
