Notice of Altered Geographic Names for Rangitāne o Manawatu Treaty of Waitangi Settlement 2016
Pursuant to sections 65 and 66 of the Rangitāne o Manawatu Claims Settlement Act 2016 (“Settlement Act 2016”), the New Zealand Geographic Board Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa (“Board”) hereby gives notice of four altered official geographic names.
The Schedule below specifies the details of the four altered official geographic names, their geographic feature types, their descriptions, their former names, statuses, and New Zealand Gazette references.
The official geographic names took effect on 2 March 2017, being the settlement date specified in the Settlement Act 2016.
Pursuant to section 67 of the Settlement Act 2016, the Board may in the future agree to alter any official geographic names, as listed in the Schedule below, with the consent of the trustees of Rangitāne o Manawatu Settlement Trust.
