Pursuant to sections 59 and 60 of the Te Atiawa Claims Settlement Act 2016 (“Settlement Act 2016”), the New Zealand Geographic Board Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa (“Board”) hereby gives notice of seven new and altered official geographic names.

The Schedule below specifies the details of the seven new and altered official geographic names, their geographic feature types, their descriptions, their former names, statuses, and New Zealand Gazette references.

The official geographic names took effect on 23 February 2017, being the settlement date specified in the Settlement Act 2016.

Pursuant to section 61 of the Settlement Act 2016, the Board may in the future agree to alter any official geographic names, as listed in the Schedule below, with the consent of the trustees of Te Kotahitanga o Te Atiawa Trust.
