This notice is issued pursuant to section 249 of the Building Act 2004 and specifies the minimum frequency of audits that the building consent accreditation body must conduct on accredited building consent authorities.

Notice

1. Title—This notice is the Building (Requirements for Building Consent Accreditation Body) Notice 2017.

2. Commencement—This notice commences on 3 April 2017.

3. Application—This notice applies to a building consent accreditation body.

4. Interpretation—In this notice, unless the context requires otherwise:

2011 notice means the notice entitled “Requirements for Building Consent Accreditation Body” issued by the chief executive of the Department of Building and Housing on 21 March 2011 and published in the New Zealand Gazette, 31 March 2011, No. 41, page 986.

5. Minimum Frequency of Audits—The minimum frequency of audits that the building consent accreditation body must conduct on accredited building consent authorities is once every two years.

6. Revocation—The 2011 notice is revoked.

Explanatory note

This note is for explanatory purposes only.

This notice specifies the minimum frequency of audits that the building consent accreditation body must conduct on accredited building consent authorities as required by section 249 of the Building Act 2004. Section 249 requires that the minimum frequency must be at least once every three years.
