The Registrar of the Electrical Workers Registration Board (“Board”), having been directed by the Board in accordance with section 147Z(2) of the Electricity Act 1992 (“Act”), gives notice that Gordon David McLaren (EAS 265899) has been disciplined by the Board under Part 11 of the Act.

Gordon David McLaren, in relation to work carried out at a property in New Plymouth during August 2015, was found guilty of committing the following disciplinary offences:

Section 143(a)(ii) of the Act, in that he certified a Certificate of Compliance in breach of section 74 of the Act; and

section 143(f) of the Act, in that he provided a false or misleading return in that he completed a Certificate of Compliance for prescribed electrical work that was non-compliant and for work he was not authorised to carry out or supervise.

Gordon David McLaren was suspended for a period of nine months under section 147M(1)(b)(i), ordered to pay a fine of $3,000.00 under section 147M(1)(f) and ordered to pay costs of $1,000.00 under section 147N of the Act.
