Pursuant to section 94B of the Civil Defence Emergency Management Act 2002, we, David Cull, Mayor, Dunedin City, and Stephen Woodhead, Chairperson, Otago Regional Council, give notice of a local transition period over the Otago Civil Defence Emergency Management Group Districts of Waitaki, Dunedin and Clutha, owing to the severe weather event on 21–23 July 2017.

This transition period:

1. comes into force at 9.00am on 24 July 2017, which is the time and date when:
1. this notice is given;
2. the state of emergency declared at 7.30pm on 21 July 2017 for Waitaki, Dunedin and Clutha is terminated;
2. is in force for 28 days; and
3. ends at 9.00am on 21 August 2017 unless extended or terminated earlier.
