Notice of Setting of Methodology to Identify Earthquake-prone Buildings (EPB Methodology) and New Material Incorporated by Reference

Pursuant to section 133AX(1)(b) of the Building Act 2004 (“Act”), I give notice that the EPB Methodology was set on 3 July 2017.

The EPB Methodology is available for download free of charge from www.building.govt.nz/managing-buildings/managing-earthquake-prone-buildings.

The EPB Methodology is available in printed form for purchase on request by members of the public.

New Material Incorporated by Reference

Pursuant to sections 405 and 410(1)(e) of the Act, I give notice that the following material is incorporated by reference in the EPB Methodology, which was set on 3 July 2017:

The Seismic Assessment of Existing Buildings: Technical Guidelines for Engineering Assessments (the Engineering Assessment Guidelines) produced by the New Zealand Society for Earthquake Engineering, the Structural Engineering Society New Zealand and the New Zealand Geotechnical Society, in conjunction with the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment and the Earthquake Commission, version 1.0, dated 3 July 2017.
