The Chief Executive of the Ministry of Social Development gives notice that, as the competent authority for New Zealand under the Agreement on Social Security between the Government of New Zealand and the Government of Australia dated 8 December 2016 (“Agreement”), the percentages to be deducted from the maximum rates of benefit agreed in 2001 with the Secretary of the former Department of Social Family and Community Services, now named the Department of Social Services, as the competent authority for Australia, will continue.

The percentage to be deducted from the appropriate maximum rate of benefit under:

1. Article 9 of the Agreement (which relates to New Zealand superannuation and veteran’s pension) is 15 percent; and
2. Article 10 of the Agreement (which relates to supported living payment) is 0 percent.
