Pursuant to section 94B of the Civil Defence Emergency Management Act 2002 (“Act”), I, Anthony Andre Bonne, give notice of a local transition period over Whakatāne District owing to the flooding and widespread damage as a result of the extreme rainfall event generated by tropical storm Debbie.

This local transition period:

1. comes into force at 12:00pm on Friday 21 April 2017, which is the time and date when the state of emergency declared at 12.00pm on 14 April 2017 for Whakatāne District expires;
2. is in force for 28 days; and
3. ends at 12.00pm on 19 May 2017, unless extended or terminated earlier.
