1. Title—This bylaw is the New Zealand Transport Agency (Speed Limits on State Highways) Amendment Bylaw 2017/17.

2. Commencement—This bylaw comes into force on and from 20 December 2017.

3. Principal bylaw amended—This bylaw amends the New Zealand Transport Agency (Speed Limits on State Highways) Bylaw 2010/10.

When a variable speed limit sign installed on the section of State highway displays the numerals “40”, the speed limit is 40km/h. At all other times the speed limit is 80km/h.

2. 20 minutes at the end of school, being no earlier than five minutes before the end of school,
3. 10 minutes at any other time when vehicles are entering or leaving the school grounds or there is pedestrian or cycle activity on the road outside the school as specified in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 102, October 2017, notice 2017-au5193. When a variable speed limit sign installed on the section of State highway displays the numerals “60”, the speed limit is 60km/h. At all other times the speed limit is 100km/h.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the bylaw, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This bylaw, which comes into force on and from the 20 December 2017, amends the New Zealand Transport Agency (Speed Limits on State Highways) Bylaw 2010/10.

Clauses 4 to 13 amend Schedule 1 to install new speed limits on the State Highway 1 at Pukenui, Puhoi, on State Highway 16 at Kaukapakapa.

Clauses 13 to 17 amend Schedules 1 and 2 to install new variable speed limits on State Highway 35 at Mangatuna and State Highway 2 at Muriwai.
