In accordance with section 161(3) of the Land Transport Act 1998, notification is hereby given of the making of the Land Transport Rule: Setting of Speed Limits 2017 (“Rule”).

The Rule provides for the setting of speed limits by road controlling authorities. It comes into force on the 28th day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

The Rule is available for inspection, free of charge, at the National Office of the NZ Transport Agency, 50 Victoria Street, Wellington and at the NZ Transport Agency’s regional offices around New Zealand. Bound copies of Rules are available for purchase from selected bookshops that sell legislation and most can also be purchased from Wickliffe Solutions, PO Box 932, Dunedin 9054, telephone (06) 353 2700.
