Pursuant to section 331 of the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013, the Financial Markets Authority on 9 August 2017 approved a change to the NZ Markets Disciplinary Tribunal Rules (“NZMDT Rules”), as contained in the Financial Markets Conduct (NZ Markets Disciplinary Tribunal Rules) Approval of Rule Change Notice 2017 – Legal Appointees.

The following rule changes have been approved:

• A change to the wording in relation to the “Legal Appointee” category of membership of the NZ Markets Disciplinary Tribunal contained in Rule 2.1.1(a) of the NZMDT Rules in order to more appropriately frame the requirements for eligibility as a Legal Appointee on the Tribunal.
• Minor technical amendments to the NZMDT Rules.
