In accordance with section 11 of the Electricity Industry Act 2010 (“Act”), the Electricity Authority gives the following notice.

Notice

1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice is the Electricity Industry (Exemption No. 258 (Trustpower Limited)) Exemption Notice 2017.

(2) This notice comes into force on 1 May 2017.

2. Exemption—(1) Trustpower Limited (“Trustpower”) is exempted from complying with the unmetered load obligations in clause 10.14 of the Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010.

(2) This exemption applies only to the installation control point 0001177008ML889.

3. Term—This exemption expires on 10 May 2017.

4. Reasons for granting the exemption—The reasons for granting this exemption are:

1. installing metering will increase cost and the time required for the project for little benefit;
2. Trustpower will use an accurate methodology to quantify information and provide it into the reconciliation process;
3. there will be little or no impact to other participants or service providers; and
4. granting the requested exemption meets the requirements in section 11(2) of the Act.
