Notice of the Final Determination on Assigning an Official Antarctic Geographic Name

Pursuant to sections 10(1), 25 and 21(2) of the New Zealand Geographic Board (Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa) Act 2008, the New Zealand Geographic Board Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa (“Board”) hereby gives notice of assigning a new Antarctic geographic name. The official Antarctic geographic name is specified in the Schedule below.

The Board’s final determinationson this official Antarctic geographic name took effect on 27 October 2016.

Naish Peaks Peaks A 7km line of peaks up to 2874m high on an east–west trending ridge, between Dominion Range’s interior ice cap and the ice-free Meyer Desert to the north. Located on Dominion Range, upper Beardmore Glacier. Depicted on NZMS166 SV51-60/8 and USGS Reconnaissance SV51-60/8 1:250k topographic maps. 85°12′45″S latitude, 166°27′30″E longitude to 85°14′00″S latitude, 166°58′45″E longitude. A new name for a feature not named.
