Notice of Decision to Alter an Undersea Feature Name

Pursuant to section 25 of the New Zealand Geographic Board (Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa) Act 2008, the New Zealand Geographic Board Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa (“Board”) hereby gives notice of an altered undersea feature name beyond 12 nautical miles, as described in the Schedule below.

The Board’s final determination on this undersea feature name took effect on 28 July 2016.

Tokomairaro Canyon Canyon 46°27′S Latitude, 170°29′E Longitude. Elongated depression that trends northwest-southeast on the upper continental slope south of Otago Peninsula. Descends from a depth of approximately 250m to approximately 950m. Alteration from recorded name, Tokomairiro Canyon. Depicted on Otago Chart©, Carter, 1986.
