Notice of Initiation: Investigation into the Alleged Subsidisation of Galvanised Steel Coil From the People’s Republic of China
Pursuant to section 10(1) of the Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988, and acting under delegated authority from the Chief Executive of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, I have initiated an investigation into the alleged subsidisation of the goods described in the Schedule of this notice (“goods”). This initiation follows the receipt of an application made by the New Zealand industry providing positive evidence justifying the need for an investigation.

Description of Goods
Galvanised steel coil with a thickness equal to or greater than 0.3mm and less than or equal to 1.9mm and a width greater than 600mm, with a hot dipped galvanised (zinc) coating.
The goods are currently classified under Tariff Item 7210.49.31 and Statistical Key 01 and 09, which classification is provided for convenience and Customs’ purposes only, the written description being dispositive.
