Pursuant to section 16(1) of the Major Events Management Act 2007, the Minister for Economic Development gives the following notice.

Notice

1. Title—This notice is the Rugby League World Cup (Clean Zones and Clean Periods) Notice 2016.

2. Commencement—This notice comes into force on 9 December 2016.

3. Interpretation—In this notice, unless the context otherwise requires­­:

Excluded land or buildings is defined in section 16(5) of the Major Events Management Act 2007.

4. Clean periods and clean zones—The clean periods and clean zones for each game of the Rugby League World Cup held in 2017 are as follows:

1. In relation to games held at Mount Smart Stadium in Auckland, the clean periods and clean zone set out in Schedule 1;
2. in relation to games held at the Waikato Stadium in Hamilton, the clean periods and clean zone set out in Schedule 2;
3. in relation to games held at the Wellington Regional Stadium in Wellington, the clean periods and clean zone set out in Schedule 3; and
4. in relation to games held at the Christchurch Stadium in Christchurch, the clean periods and clean zone set out in Schedule 4.

5. Excluded land and buildings—The clean zones described in the Schedules do not include any excluded land or buildings.

Explanatory note

This notice, which comes into force on 9 December 2016, declares clean places and clean zones at stadiums where games will be played for the Rugby League World Cup held in 2017.

Schedule 1 – Mount Smart Domain

1. Clean Zone

The clean zone is the area shown in the map to clause 2 of this Schedule, being the area consisting of the Mount Smart Domain.

2. Map

For the purposes of clause 1 of this Schedule the map of the area is:

The clean period for the clean zone described in clauses 1 and 2 of this Schedule is from:

1. 6.00am to 11.59pm on Saturday 28 October 2017; and
2. 6.00am to 11.59pm on Saturday 25 November 2017.

Schedule 2 – Waikato Stadium, Hamilton

1. Clean Zone

The clean zone is the area shown in the map to clause 2 of this Schedule, being the area consisting of the Waikato Stadium and the area bordered by, but not including, the following:

1. Tristram Street from Willoughby Park to Mill Street;
2. Mill Street from Tristram Street to Seddon Road;
3. Seddon Road from Mill Street to the Waikato Stadium carpark; and
4. Willoughby Park.

For the purposes of clause 1 of this Schedule the map of the area is:

The clean period for the clean zone described in clauses 1 and 2 of this Schedule is from:

1. 6.00am to 11.59pm on Saturday 4 November 2017; and

Schedule 3 – Wellington Regional Stadium, Wellington

1. Clean Zone

The clean zone is the area shown in the map to clause 2 of this Schedule, being the area consisting of the Wellington Regional Stadium and including the:

1. adjacent stadium carpark on Waterloo Quay; and
2. concourse to the stadium to the entry to the train platforms at Wellington Railway Station above 97 Waterloo Quay.

The clean period for the clean zone described in clauses 1 and 2 of this Schedule is from 6.00am to 11.59pm on Saturday 18 November 2017.

Schedule 4 – Christchurch Stadium, Christchurch

The clean zone is the area shown in the map to clause 2 of this Schedule, being the area consisting of the Christchurch Stadium and including the:

1. entrance area between, but not including, 91 Jack Hinton Drive and Twigger Street; and
2. area between, but not including, 15 Show Place and 1 Show Place.
