BURNETT MOUNT COOK STATION CHARITABLE TRUST
Notice is hereby given that Michael Askin (“applicant”), as trustee of the BURNETT MOUNT COOK STATION CHARITABLE TRUST (“trust”), has filed an application in the High Court at Timaru for approval of a scheme varying the terms of the Burnett Mount Cook Station Charitable Trust Deed (“deed”).
The deed outlines the charitable objects of the trust. Under the scheme, the applicant seeks to broaden the scope of those charitable objects such that the proposed objects of the trust can be fulfilled, notwithstanding the possible sale of farm land held by the trust, being Mount Cook Station and Cox’s Downs. Possible amendments to the scheme, taking account of the Attorney-General’s report on the scheme, are also being put before the Court for consideration.
Copies of the proposed schemes and the report of the Attorney-General may be inspected at the office of the Registrar of the High Court at Timaru or at the office of Wynn Williams, solicitors for the applicant, at Level 5, Wynn Williams House, 47 Hereford Street, Christchurch.
The application is set down for a hearing in the High Court at Christchurch on 15 and 16 September 2016. Any person desiring to oppose the scheme is required to give notice in writing of his or her intention to do so to the Registrar of the High Court, the applicant (through the office of Wynn Williams) and the Attorney-General not less than seven clear days before 15 September 2016.
J. V. ORMSBY, Solicitor for the Applicant.
