The Board of Drug Free Sport New Zealand has made the Sports Anti-Doping Rules (2017) (“2017 Rules”), under section 16 of the Sports Anti-Doping Act 2006.

The 2017 Rules amend the Sports Anti-Doping Rules (2016) and incorporate revised World Anti-Doping Agency International Standards.

The 2017 Rules incorporate by reference the following World Anti-Doping Agency International Standards:

1. World Anti-Doping Agency 2017 List of Prohibited Substances and Methods;
2. World Anti-Doping Agency International Standard for Therapeutic Use Exemptions, effective 1 January 2016;
3. World Anti-Doping Agency International Standard for Testing and Investigations, effective 1 January 2017;
4. World Anti-Doping Agency International Standard for Laboratories, effective 2 June 2016; and
5. World Anti-Doping Agency International Standard for the Protection of Privacy and Personal Information, effective 1 January 2015.

The Sports Anti-Doping Rules (2017) come into force on 1 January 2017.
