Pursuant to section 161(3) of the Land Transport Act 1998, notification is hereby given of the making of 13 Rules that amend the Land Transport Rules.

The amendment Rules, which were consulted on in the Land Transport Rule: Omnibus Amendment 2016, are the:

• Land Transport Rule: Heavy Vehicles Amendment 2016 (Rule 31002/9)
• Land Transport Rule: Heavy-vehicle Brakes Amendment 2016 (Rule 32015/4)
• Land Transport Rule: Passenger Service Vehicles Amendment 2016 (Rule 31001/8)
• Land Transport Rule: Seatbelts and Seatbelt Anchorages Amendment 2016 (Rule 32011/4)
• Land Transport Rule: Setting of Speed Limits Amendment 2016 (Rule 54001/3)
• Land Transport Rule: Steering Systems Amendment 2016 (Rule 32003/4)
• Land Transport Rule: Traffic Control Devices Amendment 2016 (Rule 54002/10)
• Land Transport Rule: Tyres and Wheels Amendment 2016 (Rule 32013/8)
• Land Transport Rule: Vehicle Equipment Amendment 2016 (Rule 32017/7)
• Land Transport Rule: Vehicle Exhaust Emissions Amendment 2016 (Rule 33001/8)
• Land Transport Rule: Vehicle Lighting Amendment 2016 (Rule 32005/11)
• Land Transport Rule: Vehicle Standards Compliance Amendment 2016 (Rule 35001/13)

These amendment Rules, which make minor changes, come into force on 1 December 2016.

They are available for inspection free of charge at the National Office of the NZ Transport Agency, 50 Victoria Street, Wellington, and at the NZ Transport Agency’s regional offices.
