Pursuant to section 103 of the Land Transport Management Act 2003, the NZ Transport Agency gives notice that, with effect from 5 February 2016:
- Parts of State Highways 1 and 5, described in the First Schedule, are revoked; and
- the section of new road, described in the Second Schedule, is declared to be State Highway 1.
First Schedule
- Part of State Highway 1, commencing at the splitter island on the westbound exit of the roundabout at the Wairakei junction with State Highway 5 at RP 695/0.00 and extending in a generally southerly direction to just north of the newly constructed roundabout at the intersection with Anzac Memorial Drive at RP 706/4.15. The length of State Highway 1 to be revoked is 15.17km.
- Part of State Highway 5, commencing at the intersection of State Highway 1 at RP 135/0.00 and extending in a generally easterly direction to the new roundabout on the East Taupo Arterial at RP 135/2.23. The length of State Highway 5 to be revoked is 2.23km.
Second Schedule
The East Taupo Arterial commencing at the southern exit of the newly constructed roundabout at the intersection with State Highway 5 at RP 695/0.00 and ending approximately 200m south of the old intersection with Anzac Memorial Drive at RP 706/4.41. The length of road to be declared is 15.35km.
