Pursuant to Regulation 83(1) of the Electricity (Safety) Regulations 2010, I, Mark Stephen Wogan, acting under delegated authority from the Chief Executive of Worksafe New Zealand, hereby give notice that the low voltage or extra-low voltage fittings or appliances listed in the Schedule below are declared medium risk articles, with effect from 15 February 2016.

EXTRA-LOW VOLTAGE DEVICES

A device that is a battery powered self-balancing personal transport device

Is an electrical device that:

(a) involves a single or multiple electrical energy storage device; and
(b) is a wheeled, self-balancing vehicle.

POWER TRANSFORMERS, POWER SUPPLY UNITS AND SIMILAR PRODUCTS

Power supply or charger for charging of a self-balancing personal transport device.

As defined in AS/NZS 4417.2:2012 (including amendment No. 1 January 2013) Annex B item B.2.36 and used for the charging of a battery powered self-balancing personal transport device.
