Pursuant to sections 47(3) and 395(3) of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Director of Maritime New Zealand hereby notifies the granting, during the period from 23 February 2016 to 30 March 2016, of the following exemptions:

  • 2 from Maritime Rule 24A.42(1) – Carriage of Cargoes – Dangerous Goods – Safety management system
  • 1 from Maritime Rule 31.25(1) – Crewing and Watchkeeping – General crewing and other requirements – Duty of crew to hold certificates and to be able to demonstrate ancillary proficiencies – Specific certificate or endorsement or higher grade of certificate or endorsement
  • 1 from Maritime Rule 31.42(b) – Crewing and Watchkeeping – SOLAS and STCW ships – Minimum watchkeeping and special crewing requirements – Unlimited area, minimum crew holding prescribed certificates
  • 1 from Maritime Rule 31.42(c) – Crewing and Watchkeeping – SOLAS and STCW ships – Minimum watchkeeping and special crewing requirements – Ships operating within coastal and offshore limits
