On the recommendation of the Māori Land Court, the Māori land referred to in the Schedule as set out in New Zealand Gazette, 22 February 1934, No. 11, page 430, was set aside as a Māori Reservation.

Pursuant to section 338(5)(d) of Te Ture Whenua Maori Act 1993, the purposes of the said Māori Reservation is redefined by redefining the class of beneficiaries to be members of the Tamainupo, Te Huaki and Toa Kotara hapū, commonly known as Ngā Tokotoru.
