This is your Scheme – have a hand in shaping it

Every year you have an opportunity to have your say during levy consultation. We’re consulting on behalf of the Minster for ACC, the Honourable Nikki Kaye. Check out the proposed 2016/17 levy rates for your vehicle, see the enhancements we’ve made to our risk rating system, and have your say today.

In October, ACC consulted on behalf of the Minister for ACC, the Honourable Nikki Kaye, on a number of proposed enhancements to vehicle risk rating. For the 2016/17 levy year, she asked us to consult on her behalf to:

  • Include model generation information when allocating vehicles to risk rating bands;
  • make changes to when the Total Secondary Safety Index (TSSI) and New Car Assessment Programme (NCAP) systems are used to assess injury risk; and
  • make changes to the priority set of steps we use to allocate vehicles to risk rating bands.

During this second consultation vehicle owners will be able see a list of vehicles and their proposed bandings.

This is the opportunity for New Zealanders to provide their feedback on our proposed rates for individual vehicle models. All feedback will be considered when ACC provide their final recommendations to Minister Kaye, early next year.
