Pursuant to section 72 of the Civil Defence Emergency Management Act 2002, I, Annette Kay Main, terminate the state of local emergency declared at 4.00pm on 20 June 2015 and extended at 3.50pm on 27 June 2015 for Whanganui District owing to continued evacuation of members of the public from the vicinity of Anzac Parade (and the need for public safety cordons) and the ongoing support to “cut off” communities in the rural areas of the Whanganui District.

The termination of the state of local emergency takes effect immediately on the making of this declaration.
